December 08 Recital Only – Bethany Chapel, 3333 Richardson Way SW
This solo recital program is designed to give an opportunity for intermediate to advanced students to perform in public and to hear other performers. Students will be assigned to a recital time between 1:30pm and 5:30pm.
Recitals are open to all Amici String Program students. Students not registered in the Amici String Program may also perform provided the piece is at a Grade 6 level or above, and subject to the approval of the Amici Artistic Director.
Amici Accompanist Subsidy
Amici students registered in masterclass/technique classes receive a 240-minute rehearsal subsidy. Performances at Amici recitals are covered by the subsidy; other performances are not. Once the 240-minute rehearsal subsidy is exhausted students are responsible for the cost of rehearsals at the rates quoted below.
ALL PERFORMERS must meet the following criteria:
• The piece to be performed must be MEMORIZED. (Except sonatas)
• Performers must stay for the entire recital unless they receive advance permission to be excused early for another commitment, by the Artistic Director.
• PAYMENT (Fee: $20 for Amici students; $30 for Students NOT registered in Amici) and registration form, with COMPLETE information including movements (by name, i.e., Allegro), composer’s first initial and last name, and approximate length of the piece must be received Monday prior to the recital.
• Please submit your form, with payment, Mondays at Amici, or mail or drop off the form and payment to Amici String Program 12 Sierra Vista Cir SW, T3H 3A6. Forms and payment must arrive the Monday BEFORE the recital
• The piece must be rehearsed and approved by one of the accompanists listed below BEFORE you hand in your form. Please get musical selections to the accompanists as soon as possible after deciding on them (with a minimum of two weeks). Accompanist fee for the performance will be paid by the Amici String Program.
• Rehearsals are the responsibility of each individual student and must be arranged and paid for by the student. Amici students registered in masterclass/technique classes receive a 240-minute accompanist subsidy.
• All performers must dress appropriately to perform (no jeans or sneakers).
