Junior Amici classes are designed to prepare young string players from the Grade 3 – 5 level for entry into the Amici String Program classes.
Students will have two hours of classes weekly which will include Technique/Masterclass, Chamber Music and Musicianship components. The musicianship class will focus on the elements necessary to successfully take part in chamber music at Amici. Students will learn to directly connect the concepts of printed music to the performance of the relevant pitch and rhythm. Material worked on in class will be directly drawn from the chamber music pieces assigned.
In addition, Junior Amici students will have 4 solo performance opportunities in recitals throughout the year and can take advantage of a 60 minute accompanist bursary to be used for rehearsals towards these performances.
There will be 22 classes on Monday nights from late September until early April. Classes are held at
Bethany Chapel of Calgary, 3333 Richardson Way SW Calgary, Alberta.
