Amici 2020-2021 Registration Form

Please submit a separate form for each registrant.

Welcome to the Amici String Program! We are now accepting registrations for the 2020/2021 year.

We offer master/technique classes and chamber music to string students. Our program includes 22 classes, scheduled in two consecutive hours between 4:15 and 7:15pm on Monday evenings. All classes are held at Bethany Chapel of Calgary, 3333 Richardson Way SW. Classes start September 28, 2020.

4:15 – 5:15 pm     Chamber music
5:15 – 6:15 pm     Violin/Viola masterclasses, Cello masterclass
6:15 – 7:15 pm     Chamber music

Placement in classes will be at the discretion of the Artistic Director in consultation with the students’ private teacher. After the final registration deadline on August 28, 2020, you will be notified of your class times. Please be prepared to attend Amici during any two consecutive hours between 4:15 and 7:15pm on Monday nights. This allows for correct placement in masterclass and chamber music. Please note any time restrictions that are completely unavoidable on the form. Please understand that time constraints may make chamber music placement limited or impossible.

Entry level minimum requirements
Repertoire level of approximately Suzuki Book 4; knowledge of at least one 3 octave scale; skills in shifting and vibrato.

We host monthly Sunday recitals which are open to all Amici students at Bethany Chapel (3333 Richardson Road SW). Any non-Amici student may take part if they are playing at an RCM Grade 6 level and above. Recital registration takes place a week prior to each recital.

Accompanist Subsidy
Registration in Masterclass or Masterclass and Chamber Music includes up to 4 hours rehearsal time with an Amici accompanist.

Withdrawal from Program
In recognition of the impact on other participants of the program withdrawal after the program deadline of August 28, 2020 will be in effect.
August 29-September15:   a 50% penalty will be exacted
After September 15:            no refund will be provided

Annual Volunteer Deposit
Volunteers are required for events during the year. We count on each family volunteering at sometime over the course of each calendar year (September 01-September01). Events have included setting and clearing recital receptions, assisting at end of year events, assisting with lunches during summer camps, assisting with fund raising events, working at casinos, participating on the Amici Board. Additional opportunities often occur. Emails are sent out as volunteers are required. Volunteers are selected on a first-come basis.

Amici String Program requires a $250 volunteer deposit from each family. Registration in the Amici Program assumes a commitment to fulfil volunteer requirement for the calendar year (September 01-September 01).

For 2020-2021, a cheque payable to Amici String Program Association of $250, postdated September 30, 2021 is required. (One deposit per family.) This cheque can be submitted at anytime before the program begins in the fall or on the first day of classes. Please do not use e-transfer to pay volunteer deposit.

A volunteer list will be maintained. Volunteer deposit cheques will be returned after September 30, 2021 to those fulfilling this requirement; all others will be deposited as a volunteer buyout.

We require a regular checked email address for timely program correspondence.
Donations of $20 or more will receive a tax receipt.

Families can pay Amici via e-transfer by sending their online payment to Confirmation code is required when registering.
